Training on the Improvement of Quality of Services Provided at the Primary Health Care Centers

On June 05-07 a training for primary health care physicians from five regions of Ukraine was held in Kiev.

The training “Implementation of the Model for Improvement of Quality of Services Provided at Health Care Facilities” was organized within the project “Integration of Addiction and HIV Infection Treatment in the Primary Health Care” implemented by the Ukrainian Institute for Public Health Policy in collaboration with the Yale School of Medicine, Yale University (USA).  The training participants included family doctors and chief physicians of the primary health care centers from Mariupol, Kramatorsk, Kropyvnytsky, Zhytomyr and Kyiv.

The goal of this workshop was to train health workers to feel free to navigate the theoretical and practical aspects of quality management at the level of health care facilities and to apply the model of improvement in practice using the basic tools. The trainers, Olena Novichkova and Uliana Snidevych offered the participants to practice the training topic on the example of improvement of the continuum of services for HIV infected adults and adolescents. At the end of this three-day activity the participating physicians presented their group work results.

All physicians who successfully completed the training course, received certificates and the right to get scores in the new system of continuous professional education in the health care system.
