In the framework of “Integrating Addiction Treatment and HIV services into Primary Care Clinics in Ukraine” Project the UIPHP experts in cooperation with colleagues from the Yale Medical School delivered a training specially tailored for medical doctors and NGO staff based in the Mykolaiv City.
In Kyiv on November 29th experts from the Ukrainian Institute on Public Health Policy (UIPHP) in cooperation with their colleagues from the Medical School of Yale University delivered a training on “Motivation of Medical Staff under the Health Reform in Ukraine”; the training was developed for the primary care physicians working in the Mykolaiv City at the PHC Clinic #4 and PHC Clinic #6 – from 2014 the clinics have been engaged under the “Integrating Addiction Treatment and HIV services into Primary Care Clinics in Ukraine” Project. Furthermore, the training involved the UIPHP partner organisations, personnel of the CSO Public Health and Positive Action “Time to Life” and Pavlo Sukhiy-Davletbayev, Regional Coordinator on Scale up and Implementation of OAT Programmes under the Kirovograd Oblast Subdivision of the AUCO “All-Ukrainian Network of PLH”; under the project the training participants are going to share their newly-acquired knowledge with their colleagues in other parts of Ukraine.
The participants received training on strategies used in goal attainment and maintenance as well as grounding principles under the NIATx model, i.e., application of the rapid change model to improve care, gained skills on project development and implementation aimed at achieving change, studied key tools on providing peer support and strengthening processes in improving quality of care at the facility, developed skills on prepping, initiating and facilitating site visits and peer coaching.
