7th International Symposium on Hepatitis Care in Substance Users

UIPHP Scientific Director Konstantin Dumchev presented the estimates of the number of people living with HIV/HCV coinfection who inject drugs in Ukraine at the 7th International Symposium on Hepatitis Care in Substance Users in Portugal.

This symposium organized by the International Network for Hepatitis in Substance Users (INHSU) is the leading International conference focused on the management of hepatitis among substance users. In 2018 the annual symposium was held on September 19-21 in Cascais, Portugal. 

The symposium attracts delegates including health professionals (doctors, nurses and allied health), researchers, community organisations, people who use drugs and policy makers. The topics for consideration are Epidemiology, Public Health, Prevention and Harm Reduction; HCV diagnosis, linkage to care and treatment; Achieving HCV Elimination. 

UIPHP Scientific Director Konstantin Dumchev presented the results of the study, the purpose of which was undertook a standardized assessment of risk factors among registered HIV patients to estimate the number of PWID with HIV/VH coinfection, at the Session “Epidemiology, Modelling and Cost-Effectiveness”: Estimation Of The Number Of People Who Inject Drugs And Live With HIV And Viral Hepatitis Co-Infection In Ukraine
